Invacare partners with disability triathlon in UK with over 4k participants

Earlier this month, we were proud to once again partner with the Superhero Tri powered by Marvel, the UK’s only disability and all-accessible triathlon, held at Dorney Lake in Windsor near London.

Now in our second year of partnership, the event continues to grow in scale and impact.

With more than 4,000 participants, the atmosphere was one of achievement and celebration as people of all ages and abilities took on the swim, cycle, and push challenges.

The event was also filmed for a Channel 4 documentary, presented by British TV star Clare Balding, ensuring these incredible stories reach an even wider audience.

We were delighted to host a dedicated hospitality zone at the event. Featuring a climbing wall and a demonstration zone with a local disability rugby team, Berkshire Banshees, with whom we were pleased to announce a new partnership.

As our UK Marketing Manager, Lisa Cook, explained: “We are incredibly proud to support the Superhero Tri once again. Seeing people of all abilities come together to take part in sport, challenge themselves, and celebrate what’s possible is so inspiring.

“Our role goes beyond manufacturing - it’s about helping create moments of confidence, empowerment and connection.”

The Superhero Series organisation, which organises these events, was founded by Great Britain Paralympian Sophia Warner, the first person with a disability to enter the London Triathlon in 1998.

Speaking about her motivation, Sophia said: “I think there’s a real gap between being a Paralympian and being someone who has a disability and loves to do sport. From my perspective, yes, I’m a Paralympian, but there aren’t a lot of places to go and do sport for fun, where your competitors are made like you.

“I hope we can continue to encourage more Superheroes and their families to come along and get involved. And thanks to Invacare for their support – we couldn’t do it without super partners like them.”

The event also welcomed several well-known UK celebrities, including TV’s Alex Brooker, British athlete Stephen Miller, Paralympian Sophie Christiansen and many others, who joined everyday superheroes to showcase the power of sport to unite.

Our mission at Invacare is Making Life’s Experiences Possible, and supporting the Superhero Tri is a perfect example of this.

The event reflects our values of inclusion, determination, and ability, and we are proud to play a role in ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to take part and shine.

We look forward to continuing our partnership and building on the success of this year’s event.
