You can easily recognise Vicair products by the tetrahedron shaped SmartCells inside which are non-flowing air packaged in a unique way. These SmartCells form the basis of Vicair technology and are virtually indestructible. SmartCells are segregated into different compartments within the wheelchair back cushions, so they do not migrate and adapt to the body’s contours to ensure the required support and stability is provided. Compartments do not require adjustment although the amount of SmartCells in each compartment can be adjusted for optimal positioning to fit individual or changing needs, by removing or adding cells. What’s more they can be adjusted, while still leaning against the wheelchair backrest cushion.

It can be used in several types of wheelchair back systems and tilt-in space wheelchair with adjustable seat depth. The back cushion is easily fitted onto solid back supports using the hook and loop strips. Combining a Vicair back cushion with a Vicair seat cushions such as Vicair Vector O2, Vicair Adjuster O2 or another model can be highly beneficial to people who need high levels of pressure care, particularly those using more passive wheelchairs.

Vicair back cushions are a collection of lightweight wheelchair back cushion that alongside maximising comfort, provide superb pressure redistribution, minimise shear forces and optimal support for reduced risk of skin breakdown. The Vicair wheelchair backrest cushion range consists of Vicair Multifunctional O2 back which is ideal for tilt-in-space wheelchairs, Vicair Anatomic back, Vicair Multifunctional O2 Flex back which is specifically designed for Invacare’s Flex 3 back system. Other models in the range include Vicair butterfly back for lumbar support and the Vicair Liberty back which features unique SmartCells in silicone with a self-adjusting air valve that continues Vicair’s maintenance-free philosophy.

Vicair seat and back cushions in the Vicair O2 collection have a perforated cushion material making them not only 100% machine washable for optimal hygiene but breathable for perfect temperature and moisture regulation. Vicair products that have not yet migrated to the Vicair O2 model will require removal of the SmartCells before laundering.
