Join us in congratulating our design and manufacturing teams on the recent recognition of excellence in achieving a runner-up award in the Make UK Manufacturing Awards 2022.

The new Dacapo Ecogreen pressure relieving mattress took the award within the highly sought-after category of Energy and Sustainability for Wales in the regional finals. 

Traditionally, a mattress and its foam core are made of synthetic raw materials which, in production and the end of its product life cycle has an impact on the environment. Around 30 million foam mattresses are discarded or incinerated in the EU every year, contributing to climate change and excess waste. The aim for the design and manufacturing team was to create and develop a fully ecogreen mattress for the medical industry, whilst paying close attention to the environmental impact without compromising on patient care.

Our Dacapo Ecogreen is the new benchmark in achieving a responsibly designed pressure relieving mattress whilst improving clinical outcomes and sustainable healthcare. The product also achieved Highly Commended within the category of Innovation.
