At Invacare, our mission to Making Life’s Experiences Possible extends far beyond the products we create. 

This month, our CEO, Geoff Purtill, is leading by example by taking on an incredible challenge to cycle 500 km in intervals over the weeks, in support of the Move For Mobility initiative, in partnership with Free Wheelchair Mission. 

This not-for-profit humanitarian organisation helps deliver essential mobility equipment to people in under-resourced countries, where access to basic wheelchairs is often unavailable.

As a strong advocate for social impact, Geoff has inspired Invacare teams worldwide to join in and get moving for an incredible cause. Hundreds of employees are participating in personal challenges, team sports, and community activities to raise awareness and funds for Move For Mobility.

Geoff began his cycling journey earlier this month in Switzerland, alongside a small group of Invacare employees. As May comes to a close, he remains committed, steadily cycling towards his ambitious 500 km goal.

In its second year, the Move For Mobility initiative has gained significant momentum across Invacare. Last year, through the combined efforts of our employees worldwide, we raised over $28,000, funding 294 wheelchairs for people in remote communities. This year, with Geoff leading from the front, we’re aiming even higher.
