Dynamic mattresses

Dynamic mattresses suitable for patients with a high risk of pressure ulcers

Dynamic mattresses, also known as air pressure mattresses, provide care for patients who are at risk of developing pressure ulcers. By using air cells, these mattresses inflate and deflate, thereby relieving pressure for users who can’t tolerate or don’t have access to manual repositioning.

Invacare’s family of dynamic mattresses is made up of the SoftAIR, MicroAIR and SoftCloud ranges. All of them are suitable for the care of patients with a very high risk of developing pressure ulcers.

Our models are tried and trusted by healthcare professionals and ensure excellent performance. Nevertheless, the need for such a device, along with the correct model, should be decided by a healthcare professional on a case by case basis.

Our air pressure mattresses provide intuitive pressure support and therapy

To relieve pressure, these mattresses mimic the natural repositioning of the body by regularly redistributing pressure even for static patients. We also offer a mattress that features a 'floating heels' option which allows the permanent offloading of the patient’s heels, for example, for users with wounds in this area.

The mattresses are equipped with air cells which inflate and deflate to provide pressure relief or therapy. The cells in the head area remain static.

Invacare’s dynamic mattresses are operated through innovative controls that offer great adjustability. Carers can set static or dynamic modes and the unit also features an auto-detect functionality, which intuitively detects patient movements for automatic pressure adjustment. Visual and audio alarms on the control unit notify of low pressure or power failure. The cable management system prevents dangling cables for improved security and convenience.

The mattresses feature a CPR‌ tag which deflates the bed in seconds, in case CPR needs to be administered to the patient. The tag is attached to the mattress and is designed in bright colours to allow for an easy location during emergencies.

Our family of dynamic mattresses come with handles and are very easy to transport. They feature a transportation mode which keeps the bed inflated while the patient is being transported. Availability of models with static side walls facilitates a supported patient transfer. We also have a solution designed to be used in conjunction with a foam mattress.

The covers of these air pressure mattresses are made of durable materials that prevent shear and friction. They are vapour permeable and completely removable for machine washing.
