Invacare recently held its global annual fundraiser, which saw over 400 employees from regions around the world get active throughout May to raise funds for our partner, Free Wheelchair Mission, to help improve the lives of others.
Our 2025 Move for Mobility fundraiser raised $24,096, with this year’s funds supporting 251 individuals living in under-resourced and remote communities with no access to mobility equipment. The initiative provides life-changing access to wheelchairs.
Move for Mobility took place in May and saw our employees and partners participate in physical activities and challenges all with the purpose of raising funds for our charity partner, Free Wheelchair Mission.
Free Wheelchair Mission is a humanitarian non-profit organisation that has distributed over 1.5 million durable, cost-effective, and life-changing wheelchairs to individuals with otherwise no access to them across 95 countries.
Participants across 15 countries engaged in a wide range of activities, including wakeboarding, archery, gymnastics, wheelchair basketball, boxing, rugby, and much more.
Geoff Purtill, Invacare President and CEO, said:
“This year, we were thrilled to see even more energy and enthusiasm across our teams. Together, hundreds of colleagues and partners took part in challenges, ranging from office step counts to epic hikes, each one bringing us closer to our goal and continuing our purpose of Making Life’s Experiences Possible.
Raising $24,096 means we can now fund 251 additional wheelchairs — providing mobility, independence, and dignity to people who otherwise would go without. It’s been humbling to see the passion behind every activity from Invacare teams and the real lives transforming as a result.
In just over 12 months, we have raised over $50,000 for Free Wheelchair Mission, and we are keen to continue fundraising and raising awareness of the important work they do.”
Free Wheelchair Mission CEO Nuka Hart commented on the efforts by Invacare:
“We are incredibly grateful for our continued partnership with Invacare and deeply inspired by the passion and dedication their team brings to the Move for Mobility campaign,” she said.
“Through Invacare’s efforts, 251 individuals in remote communities now have the gift of a wheelchair that will transform the lives of these individuals and their families.”
